Searcher and Savior of My Soul

Searcher and Savior of my soul,
my Sun, my Shield, my sovereign Judge,
all things are naked to thy view,
my heart, my thoughts, my words, my ways.

Oft to thy Word my Soul repairs;
thence I my highest comforts draw;
though foes may fight and devils rage,
if God be for me, all is well.

Sustain me then with promised grace,
revive my heart, increase my faith:
seal to my soul thy pardoning love,
let strength be equal to my day.

Supremely wise and good and great;
O! search my heart and try my ways.
Thy work I love, thy judgments fear,
and tremble while I pray and praise.
